EAGE promove novas publicações
A Associação Europeia de Geociências e Engenharia (EAGE, na sigla em inglês) promove em sua newsletter mensal quatro publicações importantes: 1) Seismic Fracture Characterization - Concepts and Practical Applications; 2) Environmental Geophysics: Everything you ever wanted (needed!) to know but were afraid to ask!; 3) EAGE Education Tour Serie (OTE) - Special Package Deal; e 4) Non-Renewable Resource Issues: Geoscientific and Societal Challenges.
Seismic Fracture Characterization - Concepts and Practical Applications (EET 8)
Written by E. Liu & A. Martinezeros
This book provides an introduction to the fundamental concepts of seismic fracture characterization by introducing seismic anisotropy, equivalent-medium representation theories of fractured rock and methodologies for extracting fracture parameters from seismic data. The authors focus on practical applications using extensive field data examples. Their ultimate goal is to build discrete fracture network models incorporating all data.
The book is part of the EET series and complements the EET 8 course which will be launched at the annual EAGE conference in London in 2013.
Price for EAGE members: € 55.00 | List price: € 70.00 (excl. shipping)
Environmental Geophysics: Everything you ever wanted (needed!) to know but were afraid to ask! (EET7)
Written by P. Styles
This is an OUTWARD facing book for people who need to understand Geophysics because it can solve the problems they regularly encounter and help to deliver their optimal geotechnical solution, proved by the essential, but last to be applied, intrusive investigation.
Price for EAGE members: € 50.00 | List price: € 65.00 (excl. shipping)
EAGE Education Tour Serie (OTE) - Special Package Deal
Written by Several authors
1. Beyond Conventional Seismic Imaging (L. Evgeny) - OTE1
2. Microseismicity: A Tool for Reservoir Characterization (S.A. Shapiro) - OTE2
3. Applications of Seismic Anisotropy in the Oil and Gas Industry (V. Grechka) - OTE3

Non-Renewable Resource Issues: Geoscientific and Societal Challenges
Written by R. Sinding-Larsen & W. Friedrich-W. (Eds.)
This publication provides guidelines on how to ascertain whether resource scarcity or abundance poses a threat to sustainable development. It also
discusses how our improved knowledge of valuable geological resources can help with better planning, governance, social stability and advancement.
