A Norsar, instituto norueguês de pesquisa e desenvolvimento, realiza em janeiro e fevereiro de 2011 quatro cursos voltados para usuários de seus softwares de modelagem sísmica.
Os cursos serão ministrados pela equipe de pesquisadores da Norsar nas instalações de treinamento em Kjeller, na Noruega, próximo a Oslo.

Introduction to NORSAR-2D Seismic Ray Modelling (31 de Janeiro a 1º de Fevereiro - 2 dias)
The main focus on this course is to give the students an understanding of the capabilities of NORSAR-2D, which is an advanced and easy-to-use ray tracing tool suited for commercial 2D projects as well as for testing, teaching, and training purposes. Students will learn how to build a model either from external data or by clicking and drawing (using integrated tools), how to use different types of ray modeling tools, and how to efficiently make use of the results.
Introduction to NORSAR-3D Seismic Ray Modelling (17 a 20 de Janeiro - 4 dias)
The main focus on this course is to give the students an understanding of the capabilities of NORSAR-3D, including ray tracing in parallel on multiple computers in a network. We focus on the basic workflows for model building, simulation of multi-streamer geometries, illumination mapping, and synthetic seismic data generation.
NORSAR-3D Seismic Ray Modelling Intermediate Course (2 a 4 de Fevereiro - 3 dias)
This is an extension to the NORSAR-3D introductory course, which is designed for students with limited experience who want to refresh or extend their knowledge. Some key information from the introductory course will be repeated, but the main idea is to bridge the gap between a controlled training situation and the advanced requirements for a real-life project. As such, the course introduces to limitations, pitfalls, and possible workarounds, and provides in-depth understanding of pre-processing and modelling parameters. Students are not necessarily requested to complete the introductory course first but should be aware of the principle work flow from data import to illumination map, at least at an introductory level.
Introduction to SeisRoX Seismic Reservoir Modelling (24-27 de Janeiro - 4 dias)
This course gives an introduction to SeisRoX, a rapid modeling tool for seismic reservoir characterization and 4D data analysis. The software guides the user from the rock physics model through to the simulation and analysis of 3D synthetic seismic volumes. This approach is particularly useful for investigating the seismic sensitivity to geological properties, seismic properties, and reservoir geometry.
